Snow!!

What a weekend! Late last week, we got hit with a big snow storm. We ended up getting some ice first and then about 8 inches of snow at our house. Collin was so excited! He thought that since the snow came back like it did on Christmas, that it meant Santa would be making a return with more cars for him. I had to break it to him that Santa only came at Christmastime, not everytime it snowed. He seems to be convinced that Santa and Frosty the Snowman go hand in hand. Oh well.........

Here's Collin giving me a "thumbs up" on sledding. This is the first year he has done this and he loved it! Note to self.....next year buy sleds BEFORE the first big snowstorm. We pretty much got laughed at everywhere we went asking if they had any sleds left. Luckily our wonderful next door neighbors, Doug & Carla let us borrow their sleds. We will be better prepared next year!

We found this great hill going out towards Bella Vista on 71B. It's a hill at Bethel Baptist Church and it was a doozy! We had so much fun and are so glad we now know of a great place to go sledding! (Thanks Ashley Lee)

Collin and I made a snowman in the front yard. This is the before picture....later that day, frosty got his block knocked off by Collin. Daddy tried to put him back together, but all his facial features kept falling off.....

Here's poor Carter watching from the sidelines again.....can't wait till next year when he can ride with me on a sled and we can race Josh and Collin!

A couple of new videos.....

Here are a couple of new videos of the boys. The first video is of Collin saying The Pledge of Allegiance. He's been saying it since this summer, but I finally got it on video! The second video is of Collin chasing Carter. It's so much fun to watch these two play together now. Just makes my day and I hope watching these makes yours too. :-)

A Day on the Farm

The boys and I headed over to my mom and dad's farm last week in Green Forest for a day. My mom was on a cruise last week, so dad was all by himself. We decided to go keep him company for the day and had a great time! We had lunch, Collin made Pa-Pa some sugar free chocolate pudding and then we went on a tractor ride down to the creek to throw rocks in the water and then fed hay to the cows. We packed a lot into the 6 hours or so we were there!

One of the many beautiful views on the farm....

Pa-Pa and his littlest farmhand, Carter.

Pa-pa and the boys on the tractor....this was
Carter's first tractor ride.

Not too sure what Carter thought about
his first tractor ride. He was pretty relaxed
and quiet the whole time.

Just looking at this makes me want
to go kiss his sweet little cheeks
right now!

Carter Evan-9 months

Carter turned 9 months old yesterday. Can't believe I'm already starting to plan his 1st Birthday party! One word to describe Carter.....sweet! His has such the sweetest demeanor. Everyone always refers to him as our "sweet little Carter" because he is just that! He is walking around things and even walks around while pushing some of his stand up toys around. Collin took his first step at 10 1/2 months, so we may have another mobile one pretty soon. Carter is such a cuddler too! I just love that about him. He wants to just hold on to you and nestle his little head on you. I also love kissing all over those chubby little cheeks! I do it as much as I can because one day he won't care too much for me doing that. I love those moments. Looking forward to many more great moments with you Carter. Happy 9 months!!

Cabin Fever

Ok, so I was as pumped as a little kid to get all this snow, but I have to admit that I'm over it now....in fact, I think I'm over the whole idea of winter right now. Seems like we have been cooped up in this house forever! Now that I'm a stay-at-home mom, I am definitely feeling the effects of cabin fever. Looking forward to spring already so we can get outside in the sunshine and play!
Anyways, to curb our boredom, here's a few of the things we like to do on snow days......

Of course, play in the snow with mommy and daddy. Collin loves throwing snowballs and making snow angels. It was a little too cold for Carter, so he just had to watch from the window.....next year Carter.

Collin decided to have a "dance party" with all his animals one day, so they each got their own tile in the kitchen to dance on while we blasted "The Wheels on the Bus". Pretty fun even though Collin didn't like me dancing with him.

Giving piano lessons to Lexi on the new keyboard Pa-Pa and Me-Ma got him for Christmas.

And of course, building forts with daddy in the living room!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! (a week late) :-) Seems like this year was a complete whirlwind, passing us by so fast. We had a great 2009 with a wonderful addition to our family.....sweet little Carter Evan. Here he is ringing in his very first New Year!

We spent our New Year's evening at our wonderful friends' BJ & Wendy's house. We are so glad to have them back from San Diego! We had a wonderful spread of food and had a great time with everyone there. BJ's parents joined us, as well as, Shane, Stephanie & Caroline. Collin and Caroline had a great time together. Collin is only 5 months older than Caroline. They spent the evening playing Ring around the Rosie, playing with slinkies, playing on BJ's elliptical machine and playing under BJ & Wendy's new bed. They were quite the pair!
