Fun at the Fair!

Saturday night we headed out to the Benton County Fair with our friends BJ & Wendy. We had a great time. Collin absolutely loved it and was actually tall enough to ride some of the rides all by himself. He was so excited and kept asking, "Ok! What can I ride now?!" We also checked out the farm animals. Collin kept saying he got to go to the "stinky cow barn".

Here is Collin riding his first rollercoaster with daddy!

Carter was too small to ride the rides, but he did find these parrots very interesting and was crying wanting to touch them. Here he is with BJ's mom Irene. The guy in the background holding the parrots looks a little freaky in this picture. :-)

They did have some bouncy houses that Carter got to play in and he had a blast. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get him out because he was having so much fun, but he eventually wore down and started trying to climb out over the wall by himself.

We ended the night with a carnival essential....funnel cake.....hello beautiful.

Carter enjoyed his first funnel cake too.

Grand Opening of Green Forest Middle School

Tuesday night, we headed over to our hometown of Green Forest for the Grand Opening of the new Green Forest Middle School that Josh and his firm, Modus Studio designed! It was so awesome to see the progress of this building from Josh's drawings to being built into a reality. Josh and all the guys at Modus put in a LOT of hard work into this project and now the community of Green Forest has a great building to be so proud of. It was so exciting for me to see the faces of everyone as they walked in and around the building. Everyone was so excited! I also so so many people I hadn't seen in a long time, so that was really nice as well. Next on the agenda for Green Forest Schools is a new football stadium that Josh and Modus have designed. It is going to be spectacular and I can't wait until the grand opening of that next year as well! Big thanks to the Green Forest school board for selecting Modus Studio to work on this project and to the community of Green Forest for all your support!

The boys and I got a private tour before the ceremony of course. :-)

Josh had to give a speech. :-)

Carter's Dinner Prayer

Tonight, Collin, Carter & I sat down to dinner. I asked Collin if he would like to pray over the food and as he was, I looked over to find Carter with his hands clasped together and mumbling a little prayer himself. It was the sweetest thing! I asked him to pray again and got it on video the 2nd time. It amazes me how impressionable they are at this age (16 months). Even though we couldn't understand his little prayer, I'm sure God was very pleased. :-)

Colorado Visitors

Last weekend we traveled to Josh's parents' in Green Forest again to visit Uncle Tim, Aunt Julie, Syd and Ethan who came to visit from Colorado. We had such a great time visiting, laughing and eating way too much. So great to see them! We are hoping to get out to Colorado in October when Brodie and Elizabeth get married so we can visit everyone!

Here's one of the things we enjoyed....fruit pizza....luckily Julie ate the majority of this.....ha! Sorry Julie....had to try to throw someone under the bus! :-)

We also had a great time swimming.

We also celebrated Papa George's birthday while we were there.

Happy Birthday Uncle Joey!

Uncle Joey (Josh's bro) turned the big 3-0 (don't tell him I told you!)! We went to Green Forest a couple of weekends ago to help him celebrate. You know me with my cupcake craze....I made cupcakes for his special day. :-) Welcome to the 30 club Joey!

Carter always enjoys cupcakes......has a sweet tooth like his momma!

Camping with our KC Friends

Our great friends Jason & Michael came down to visit from Kansas City a few weeks ago. Josh used to work with both of them at HOK Sport. Michael still works there, but it's now known as Populous. Jason works for another firm overseas now in Dubai where all those crazy big buildings are being built. Jason was in the States for a few weeks and came down to visit. The boys minus Carter all went camping at Beaver Lake and had a great time. Collin is still talking about it. So glad to have such wonderful friends!
