Bunco!

It was my month to host bunco, so I decided we would have a relaxed evening and have a pajama night!  It was so comfy and fun!  I served breakfast for dinner as well! yum!  We had breakfast casserole and biscuits/gravy for dinner.  We then had dessert and I had so much fun making these dice shaped cake balls for dessert!  Perfect for bunco!

Oh, and I also made cupcakes....couldn't resist.

We had several girls missing last night, but we all always have so much fun.  I laughed so hard last night that my head hurt!  Thanks for a great time and many laughs girls!

Funny Friday! (ok, so i'm a day late....just go with it...)

So, I had a very busy day yesterday getting ready to host bunco at my house.  Sorry I didn't get this out sooner, but I'm sure you understand. :-)
Sorry for the quality of these pics...they were taken with my phone.

Carter has gotten into a habit of going and grabbing my powdered sugar shaker out of the fridge in the morning and pretending its a coffee cup.  He says, "I drink pa-pa's coppee (coffee)."

I never know what I'm going to walk in to find....Collin made a "tree stand" the other day and was looking to shoot a big buck.  The funny part about this picture is really, what in the world happened to Carter in the background??  Maybe he was the deer Collin shot? (Don't worry, I made Collin put the chairs down and warned him of the danger of this....I had to get a picture first though. ha!)

The boys are SO ready to head to the beach next month.  Collin's been practicing up on his surfing.
***
Carter's new funny thing is to tell "knock-knock" jokes.  They pretty much go like this...Carter-"knock-knock"...Me-"who's there?"....Carter-"Chicken Doo! ha..ha..ha.".  Sometimes his answer is Doggie Doo, but they always have something to do with "doo".  Boys....

Funny Friday!

Thanks to my mom for reminding me I hadn't posted my "Funny Friday" post yet.  I had totally forgot!  Here ya go!
***
The other night I had the boys in the tub giving them a bath.  Collin had SO much dirt in his hair from throwing potting soil around outside, that I made him lay his head down in the tub so I could really rinse it out.  He looks up at me all concerned and says, "Am I getting baptized?"
***
I gave Collin a quarter the other day for picking up his toys and he says, "Did you give me this quarter because I'm hilarious?"....oh man....already wanting to get paid for his comedy....
***
Carter LOVES Pa-Pa.  Last night he kept wanting to go to Pa-Pa's house.  It was actually pretty sad.  He looks up at me and says, "Mommy, I wanna ride Pa-Pa tracker (tractor) all night."
***
Josh asked Carter the other night, "Carter, what does a baby say?"  Carter says, "Waah!! Waah!! I got a diaper on my butt!"
***
Carter campe up to me last night with this sticker on his eye and says, "I a pirate! Aaarrr!"
***
Ok, this last story is actually about Josh.  It happened a few weeks ago, but I am just now remembering to post it.  Our friends, Chris and Shannon, went on a mission trip to Malawi, Africa.  While they were gone, we offered to take care of their plants and yard for them.  Well, with this heat, the yard really didn't need to be mowed until right before they came back.  I had been going every other day to water the plants.  On the day they were to return, Josh decides to go mow their yard before he went to pick them up from the airport.  He also did my watering for me that day.  After mowing their yard and watering their plants, he goes to pick them up and pulls back into their driveway.....only it wasn't their driveway.....they all started laughing when they realized that Josh had mowed and watered someone else's yard and plants that day!  Oh, hilarious!  I couldn't quit laughing and neither could Chris and Shannon.  To give Josh some credit, he mowed house #250 on their street.  We have some other friends that used to live in that same neighborhood and their house number was 250....on a different street.  Josh just got a little mixed up.....even though he's been to their house multiple times.....guess the heat got to him too. :-)  Love ya babe!  I just love telling this story.  By the way....come to find out, an elderly couple lives at the house they mowed, so they got a surprise blessing that day! :-)

Funny Friday!

Collin-"Mom, you know what my new favorite thing to say is?"
Me-"What?"
Collin-"Hey!  I'm outta toilet paper.  Can you toss me a roll?"
I just cracked up when he told me this.  My mom told me later that there is a toilet paper commercial where they say this. :-)

This past weekend while at my mom and dad's, there was a half moon.  I pointed it out to Collin and said, "Hey, look Collin!  Half the moon is missing!  What do you think happened to it?"  Collin looked shocked and says, "Maybe God got hungry and ate half of it."  I love how his mind works. :-)
***
I overheard Collin asking Carter a question the other day and when Carter answered, "yeah", I heard Collin say, "No Carter, you say 'yes sir'!"  (I guess he does listen to me sometimes...ha!)
***
One night at dinner with my parents we were talking about how weird its going to be to have a new baby around crying and stuff when Courtney's baby Hayes arrives in a few short weeks.  Carter now thinks its funny to talk about Hayes and when you ask him what baby Hayes is going to say he just starts yelling, "Waahh! Waaahhh!" and making this hilarious crying face.  I can't wait to see how all 3 boys react to having a newborn around.

This is a picture of Carter and his new "mad face".  He got really mad about something I wouldn't let him do the other day.  He came in with his arms crossed like this and a gruff face and exclaimed, "I mad!"  I just started laughing and said, "Oh, is that your mad face??"  It was too funny and he eventually started laughing too.  Now whenever I ask him to show me his "mad face", this is what I get...

Happy Friday to you all!  We are going to try and stay cool by the pool tomorrow!  Have a great weekend!

Silver Dollar City

This past weekend, my mom and I took Collin to Silver Dollar City for the first time.  I didn't take my camera, so this post is just an account of what we did. We got there around 10:30 am and it was already really hot.  We rode the train ride first, which raised about a million questions from Collin as to why 2 men were robbing our train.  I tried to explain to him that it wasn't real, but after the train conductor shot off a gun, he wasn't convinced because he knew that was a real gun. :-)  He did give one of the train robbers a penny though.  He was also very concerned about all the people dressed up as escaped prisoners around the park.  Anytime he would see one he would ask me with a very concerned voice, "Mommy, why are those people out of jail?"
We then went to the kids area which he loved.  Me-Ma and I went up through the ropes/monkey jump area and boy, were we quite a site!  We decided really quick that we are way too old to do that kind of stuff. ha!
We then went and had lunch in an old mine restaurant.  Collin thought that was pretty cool.  He liked eating off the tin plates and drinking out of the tin cups.  He felt like a real miner. :-)
We also rode a few of the bigger rides.  Collin really liked the flooded mine ride because he got to shoot a gun at targets the whole time.  We then rode the Lost River ride and he and I got totally soaked.  He loved it though.
We then went to another kids area where they had some smaller rides he could ride on his own.  He really liked those as well.  We tried to stay cool with drinks and icee's, but by 4:30 we were completely worn out and Collin had reached his breaking point and was telling me he was ready to go home.  We didn't argue with him about that! ha!  We stopped by the candy shop to grab my favorite taffy and rock candy and then we headed on our way home.  Collin was asleep within 5 minutes of leaving.  I asked him after we got home what his favorite thing was at Silver Dollar City and he said that he liked looking at the fish.  I just cracked up.  Out of all the things he liked, he liked looking at the fish in the pond as we waited in line for the Lost River! ha!  He had a big day and I'm so glad I got to experience it with him.

Funny Friday!

We have been SO busy this week, that I only have 2 stories for today....
***
On Monday at my parents, my mom had asked my cousin Chandler (he's 15), to carry in a couple of bags of ice.  We were all sitting outside in the shade and Chandler walks by with a bag of ice in each hand.  Collin blurts out, "Hey look everybody!  It's the world's strongest man!"  We all just cracked up!
***
Carter is really interested in Aunt Courtney's pregnant belly.  It is so cute to watch him point to her belly and say, "Baby Hayes" with his sweet little voice.  The other day he came up to me with his belly all pooched out and says, "Look mommy, baby in MY bewwee (belly)!"

Hope you all have a great weekend!  The boys and I are headed to Green Forest to the grandparents' for the weekend.  Carter is staying with Mimi and Collin and I are staying at the farm.  Mom and I are going to take Collin to Silver Dollar City tomorrow and we are so excited!  I haven't been in probably 15 years!  Hoping we don't completely melt! ha!

July 4th Celebrations!

Wow!  What a busy but fun weekend we had!  After the bike parade and splash park on Saturday, Mimi and I did some heavy shopping while the boys napped and then we headed over to Josh and Courtney's for a  cookout and some fireworks.  We had a great time hanging out with them and Josh's family from Oklahoma.  It's always so great to see them because they are just like our family too!  We had a little scary incident with the fireworks while we were there.  Everyone is ok, but Carter and Josh's brother Kolton made out with a few burns.
I made this yummy fruit pizza.

The 3 munchkins.  Hard to believe that in a year from now there will be an almost 1 year old sitting here with these 3!  We can't wait to meet Hayes!

Sunday, we headed to our church, Cross Church, to watch the awesome fireworks they have.  If you live close, you must come next year.  It's the best fireworks show around!  I'm serious!  It lasts for like 30-45 minutes and the fireworks are going continuously.  We had so much fun hanging out with our friends and the boys always enjoy rolling down the hill with their friends.

Carter chillin'....he had played too hard.

Our sweet friend Misty was in town from Atlanta, so we were so happy to spend time with her!

Mimi stayed with us all weekend, so she got to enjoy the evening with us too.

The beautiful fireworks at the Crosses!

Monday, we headed over to the farm to celebrate.  Me-ma and Pa-pa had the sandbox, kiddie pool, slip-n-slide and whale sprinkler for the boys to play in.  The big boys were busy hitting golf balls.  Uncle Bob and Aunt Brenda, The Mann family, Uncle John, and Mimi were all there to join in the fun as well.  We enjoyed grilled burgers and hot dogs, homemade ice cream and blackberry cobbler.  Yum!  Then we headed down to the creek to play in the water and do a little fishing.  I took the boys' fishing nets that we got them at Bass Pro and they had fun catching minnows with those.  It was a really great time and we had so much fun hanging out with the family.
Collin made me a "chocolate milkshake" out of sand.....complete with a scoop of whipped cream and a stick for a straw.

Jachin Mann, Kent Butler and Josh fishing at the creek.

2011 4th of July Bike Parade

The boys wanted to ride in the 4th of July parade again on the square this year.  The day before we went to pick out some new helmets (Collin got spiderman and Carter got sharks) and then we decorated up their scooters.  They were pretty excited and Collin let everyone know he was going to "win" again this year.  I think his exact words were, "I'm going to beat all those kids this year!"  Me-ma and Mimi were there to root the boys on and Hudson, Courtney and Josh were there too along with Josh's family.  We had a good time despite melting in the heat and Collin "won" again this year. ha!

Carter looking so cute with his new helmet on!

The boys got pretty hot and tired about halfway through, so daddy and mimi were there to push them the rest of the way!

Ahhh....then we ended the race with a good cool down at the splash park!

Funny Friday!

We've been spending a lot of time outside.  One day, Collin's feet got a little pink to which he exclaimed, "Mom!  I got a sunburn on my feet!  Look!  The sun got in there!!"
***
One day in the car, Carter was in the backseat just crying and crying with his sweet little bottom lip all pooched out.  Collin looks at him and says, "Carter, you look like a mean dog when you cry like that."
***
We've been spending a lot of time at the Splash Pad in Bentonville.  Carter's new favorite thing to do is to just stand over the water and let it shoot up his swim trunks.  He gets the biggest kick out of this.
 ***
I walked in to find Collin hobbling around like this yesterday.  He said he was a pirate. :-)
 ***
Carter is my very independent little guy.  He insists on picking out his clothes everyday and has about 3 favorite shirts that he always wants to wear.  So, for those of you who see him often, he does have a lot of clothes, but just chooses to wear the same ones all the time.  Now his favorite accessory are these boots.  He wants to wear them all the time.  He hasn't requested to wear them out in public yet (thank goodness!), but he gets them out every single day to wear around the house.  I call them his Napoleon Dynamite boots (those of you who have seen that movie know what I'm talking about). :-)

Happy 4th of July to you all!  I am so looking forward to this weekend!  Be safe and have fun!
