Funny Friday!

Carter is always wanting to shave or put gel in his hair like daddy.  The other day I found him in the bathroom putting gel in his hair.  He had his hair all wet and gel in his hands wiping his hair down.  His hair looked a little darker since it was wet.  He looked at me and said, "My hair's getting darker like Pa-Pa's and I'm going to eat mints."  I just started laughing because my dad is notorious for carrying around a roll of breathsavers mints in his pocket.  It's so funny the little things that kids remember about people.  :-)

Have you all seen the new KFC commercial where the hippie looking guy says, "I'll take 2 chicken pot pies!"  Well, that's been the boys' new favorite saying this week.  It's pretty funny to hear because they try to sound just like that guy.

We were driving to bible study on Tuesday morning and Collin randomly says, "You know mom, daddy really isn't a great fisherman.  All he does is keep catching fish, throwing them back and catching the SAME fish AGAIN!"  Josh denies this of course. :-)

Have a great weekend!  We are finally getting to go to the movies to watch the Hunger Games tonight!!

Easter/Spring 2012 Pictures

My wonderful friend, Katie, with Katie Cole Photography, captured my sweet boys last weekend for their 5 yr/3yr/Easter Pictures.  They look so big, it makes my heart just drop to look at how grown-up they are getting!

Funny Friday!

Happy Friday!!

The boys are REALLY into this show called "Ninja Warrior" where these guys in Japan compete in obstacles to become the ulitmate ninja warrior.  They decided to get all decked out one day while watching it and this is what I came in to find.  Be afraid, be VERY afraid.....I've got 2 ninjas guarding my home! ha!

One day, I was in the other room and could hear the boys arguing about something.  Collin finally tried to end it by saying this...."Carter, you HAVE to be nice to me because you're my brother AND you work for me." oh boy....
***
Another day, Collin and Carter were arguing.....again....and I hear Collin finally yell out, "CARTER! You can't handle the truth!!"  I walked in and started laughing which didn't make Collin happy either.  I then had to explain to him that there was a movie from a long time ago (A Few Good Men) that used that line and it was just funny for me to hear him say that.  Apparently, he heard it on a Disney show that's on in the afternoon.  Still, it made for a good laugh.

Loving This Weather!

We have had the most amazing "winter" this year!  Seriously, it's March and we are already seeing temps in the high 70's!  You won't hear me complaining about that!  We took advantage of the gorgeous weather one day and took the boys' bikes/scooters to the Crystal Bridges trail.  Definitely one of our favorite places to be!  The boys made it as far as we were wanting to go and then they decided they were "tired".  So, Josh and I got the privilege of hauling back the bike and scooter back for two tired little boys.

Love this picture! ha!

Funny Friday!

On Collin's birthday, he used some paper, scissors and stamps to make his own birthday cake.  I said, "Oh, Collin, that's nice.  You made your own cake!"  He said, "No mom, this is my design.  I am going to put this on the fridge and you use my design to make my cake today.  I want it to look like this."  You think his dad is an architect?? ha!

Carter-"Mom, I'm an adult because I can put my own shirt on."
***
Josh's mom came over to spend the night and it was the first night Collin got sick.  She was laying in bed with both boys and asks Collin, "Do you want me to rub the birthday boy's back to help you feel better?".  Carter (with his batman pjs on), not wanting to miss out says, "Hey, how about the birthday boy with the Batman shirt on over here??".
***
Collin says to Carter one day while riding in the car...."Carter, when you get married, you can't say bad words because it will embarrass your girl....girls don't like that."
***
Collin-"Mom, I love you all the way up to Heaven and back."
Carter-"Mom, I love you all the way to the Batman Cave."

Collin's 5th Birthday Celebrations

(Warning...picture overload to follow! ha!)
We were so thrilled to celebrate Collin's 5th birthday!  Still can't believe my firstborn is 5 years old!  We love him so much!  We started off his birthday morning with some streamers, pancakes and presents.  He was pretty excited.  Carter got him a new Star Wars clone, and mommy and daddy got him some army men/tanks and a new light up razor spark scooter.

That evening after daddy got home we celebrated with cake, more presents and then went to the theater to watch Star Wars Episode I in 3D!  The boys were super excited.  It was my first 3D movie!  I'm almost embarrassed to admit that! ha!  We gave Collin the remainder of his presents which were Anakin's Podracer ship and a Boba Fett gun.  He was pretty excited.

We even got Carter a new Darth Vader shirt so he could wear that to the movie. :-)

Headed to the movie in their Star Wars attire! :-)  Love these 3 so much!

The boys did so good at the movie.  We were the only ones there too!  It was nice.  Collin kept his glasses on the whole time and just sat there mesmerized.  Carter kept his on for half the time and entertained himself with popcorn, candy and playing games on my phone. :-)

After having to reschedule Collin's party twice because of the flu, we were finally able to have his party the Friday night after his birthday on Tuesday.   We went a little more low key this year and just had a small family party.  Star Wars theme of course.  I had all of Collin's favorite things and tried to incorporate them around the Star Wars theme.  I got a lot of great ideas from different sites on Pinterest.
We had such a good time until the flu bug struck Carter....again...halfway through the party.  We quarantined him to the back bedroom watching a movie for the rest of the evening.  Poor little fella.
Collin still had a great time though!

Me-Ma and Pa-Pa got him a new pitching machine!  He has really enjoyed that and looks so stinkin' cute doing it. :-)
