Funny Friday!

Our funnies for the week....
***
Collin made an elephant trunk out of play-doh.
***
I was asking the boys one day, "Hey!  Who's my boy??" and Collin turns around and says, "Daddy's your boy.  That's why you got married."
***
Carter came up to the edge of the bed one morning to wake me up and I said, "Good Morning buddy.  I love you."  Carter's response?...."Dude, your breath stinks!"
***
One of Collin's random questions for the week..."Mom, how do you spell apothecary??".....are you kidding me? :-)
***
Collin-"Mom, what's it mean to have a girlfriend?".  Didn't really want to talk about this one, but I told him that it was something he wouldn't have until he was A LOT older. :-)  That seemed to work for now.

Have a great weekend!

Leaf Collecting

The boys had a leaf collecting assignment for preschool, so we headed out to the Crystal Bridges Trail on Wednesday to pick up some leaves.  We had a great time and the weather and trees were beautiful!  Definitely one of my favorite places to be with 2 of my favorite little guys!

Being silly.....this was their "ninja pose".

Being silly again....crazy Carter....

Ok guys.....seriously?  Can I get a serious picture??

As we were leaving, we found this tree along the trail and the boys had to have their picture by it because it was a Paw Paw tree.  They just knew it had to be named after Pa-Pa Howard, so they wanted their picture by it to show him. :-)

Funny Friday!

Here are our funnies for the past couple of weeks....
***
While we were out trick or treating, we were walking down the sidewalk and Carter says, "So where's the money??"  I guess candy just wasn't good enough. :-)
***
We were getting ready to leave to go do some shopping and Mimi Kate says, "Now boys, what are we going to do if we see something we like?"  Now, Mimi was hoping to get some Christmas ideas so she was hoping they would say 'to tell her what they want for Christmas'.  Instead, Collin excitedly exclaims, "Put it in the cart!!" :-)
***
One of the ladies at church was telling me how funny Carter is and as she's talking to me, Carter starts doing all these funny moves with his arms and face.  I said, "Carter, what are you doing?" and he says, "These are my moves.".
***
My big catch one day.  Carter randomly walked around like this for most of the morning.

Popcorn night.....Carter decided to throw it as confetti.....luckily Lexi was there to help clean up....

Loving His New Hobby.....

Ever since Collin learned how to ride his bike without training wheels, that is ALL he wants to do.  We are trying to take advantage of any opportunity to let him ride since winter is upon us and he won't get to do it much.  It's so cute to watch him and how happy it makes him.  A few of his friends on our street saw him riding the other day and made a big deal about it, so he was pretty happy about that.  He drives all around the block now and says he wants to drive "all over the neighborhood all the time!". :-)  Love this boy so much!

The Perfect Turkey

I recently got an email from Williams Sonoma about some upcoming cooking technique classes they were going to have.  I love cooking and that is always something I've wanted to go to, but never have.  So, I signed up for a class and went to my first one yesterday.....best part, it was free!  The class started at 11, so we went to early church and then after that I headed to class. I had the rest of the day to myself while Josh and the boys went to the farm.  It was a great day!
The class was called, "The Perfect Turkey".  I've roasted a turkey a handful of times, but honestly, never been that impressed with my attempts.  My mom has always been the one in charge of the turkey at our house on Thanksgiving, so I figured it was time I learned some proper "turkey technique"!
Our instructor, Vince, was very good.  He gave some really good tips and passed out pamphlets of everything he went over along with some recipes.  He brined a turkey, made some foccacia bread stuffing, turkey gravy and a green bean casserole.  After the demonstration, we were able to partake of all the delicious food.  The brining really made the turkey so moist and juicy!  I will definitely have to try that the next time I roast one.  He also put some turkey paste made of a grapeseed oil base that he put under the skin of the turkey.  I really enjoyed my day there and have already signed up for my next class on the 20th called "All Star Thanksgiving". So excited to be going with the girls from my church small group for that one!

Oh What A Night!

Oh, Wow!  What fun we had tonight!!  We headed down to the square in Bentonville for the First Friday event for the month.  This was the last one for the year, and boy, was it a great one!  It was a Toyland theme, so they had all kinds of characters there and toy vendors....lots and lots of toy vendors.  Pretty much a dreamland for my two little guys.  We had SO much fun walking around even though the place was so, so packed.  Downtown Bentonville does a great job for every First Friday event, but they really outdid themselves tonight.  My two guys were soooo wound up after we got home, that I didn't get them to bed until 11 pm!  We saw Mater, Lightning McQueen & Finn McMissle from the Cars 2 movie along with Elmo, Dora, Spongebob, Power Rangers & Batman.  There were tons of toy vendors there as well giving away toys and had a ton of them out for kids to play with/try out.  Collin has had his eye on a Dagadar race track and lucky him, they had one on display for him to try out.  He was pretty pumped.
They also had music going on on stage and both boys were dancing their hearts out by the end of the night.  No slowing them down!  As chaotic as it was, it was a blast and a night they won't soon forget....me either. :-)  Love our nice downtown square and all the neat things they do!  Thank you!

The cool thing about these cars is that they are not drivable....they are ran by remote control!

The Dagedar race track Collin has had his eye on....

Carter was pretty excited to see some Transformer Bumblebee toys.

Carter with Elmo (Collin did NOT want his picture with Elmo since he thinks Elmo is for babies.....)

Carter with a Halo guy

The boys with Batman.  They were probably most excited to see him and the Power Rangers.

Oh, and of course, we couldn't leave without going on a pony ride.

super happy little guy

Dora....had to get a picture of her even though the boys didn't want to stand by her since she is for "girls". :-)

School Pictures-Fall 2011

My friend, Hannah, at Ever After Portraiture took these photos of the boys at their preschool. I don't remember my school pictures EVER looking this good!  Thanks Hannah!
Absolutely love these little guys!  They are getting SO big!

Last Weekend...

Last weekend, Josh and I headed to the Heber Springs/Greers Ferry area for the wedding of David (works at Modus with Josh) and Kara.  Josh's business partner, Chris, and his wife, Leanne, invited us to stay with them at her parents' cabin on Greers Ferry Lake.  We had a wonderful time and Leanne's parents were such gracious hosts!  So appreciative of them!
The wedding was so beautiful and was at a home that sat on the edge of the lake, so the backdrop to the ceremony was absolutely beautiful with the water and fall colors.
The boys spent the weekend with the grandparents.  This month it was Collin's turn to stay with my parents and Carter stayed with Mimi.  They both had a great time and the grandma's even took them to the movies.  So thankful for all of them and their love for our boys!
On Sunday, we headed back to my parents' farm and Josh and Collin did a little fishing.  Josh caught like 20 fish and Collin caught 3...all by himself!  He has become quite the little fisherman.
The beautiful view from the back deck of the cabin.

Leanne's dad built a nice bonfire for us to sit next to every night and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Way to go Collin!
