A Visit With Santa

We took the boys to visit Santa last night.  They were so excited.  I just love to see that excitement on their faces.  Completely priceless.
Trying to get a "sneak peek"

Patiently waiting....

Collin telling Santa his Christmas wishes.

Carter telling Santa his wishes

They were talking to him like crazy.....so cute!

Then they got some treats from him

Super excited!  Love that face!

Christmas Tour

Here is a glimpse into our home this Christmas season.

I had the picture my friend Katie took, printed in a 16 x 20 and hung it above our fireplace.  Absolutely love this!

This is the boys' tree this year.  They were really big helpers this year and wanted to decorate their tree.  This year we made it fun and took different colored pipe cleaners and curled them using pencils and added that as decor.  They had a lot of fun helping with that.

Several years ago, Josh's mom had given me a box of his old ornaments, so I was able to use some of those on the boys' tree this year.  I just love that I was able to use those and the boys were SO excited to show daddy. :-)

I let the boys each pick out a new ornament for their tree this year.  Collin chose a Star Wars clone helmet and Carter chose Buzz Lightyear.

Even Lexi gets her own Christmas dishes! :-)

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads....

Bentonville Christmas Parade

Last weekend, we took the boys to the Christmas Parade.  They had a great time watching the parade and collecting lots of goodies!

We saw the Duggar family there passing out stickers in
support of our friend, Bart Hester, who is running for
  state senate.

The boys loved seeing all the dogs dressed up.  They just cracked up.

Another favorite were these sports cars.  The boys thought they were transformers.  Carter kept yelling "Bumblebee! Bumblebee!" when he saw the yellow one.  He was really excited when I told him that it really was Bumblebee because that's what it's license plate said. :-)

And finally, to end the parade, Santa & Mrs. Claus!

1st Trip to the Dentist!

I took the boys today for their first trip to the dentist!  They were pretty excited to go, surprisingly, but I had really talked it up the last couple of days, so I guess that's why. :-)  Josh's cousin, Jeri Lynn, is a hygienist at Smile Artists in Rogers, so I took them there to see her.  They couldn't have been more perfect!  I was so proud of the way the acted and how willing they were to let Jeri Lynn and Dr. Neff clean/check their teeth.  Carter even sang Jingle Bells for them. :-)  Jeri Lynn and Dr. Neff were so great with them too and loaded them up with lots of fun stuff for being such good boys and for being members of the "No Cavity Club".  Yep, thats right, no cavities!!  Yay!!

Carter wanted to go first, so he hopped right up in the chair.

Jeri Lynn cleaned his teeth.  Both boys thought the suction thing was hilarious.  They would both just laugh about it.

Dr. Neff then came to check on their teeth.

Next, it was Collin's turn...

Look at my clean teeth!!

Funny Friday!

Here are our funnies for the last couple of weeks.....
***

Josh's mom gave me a box of ornaments several years ago that were Josh's when he was young.  I was going through them the other day and found this one.  I showed it to Collin and told him who it was.  He looked at me funny and says, "What???  He sure looks...uh...weird."
***
Collin and Carter are all into telling scary stories, so over Thanksgiving, they were telling my mom and dad some scary stories before bedtime.  Collin was talking about some scary guy and his "one legged arm".  We just cracked up.
***
Josh always gets on to me because Collin is constantly singing commercial jingles like I do.  Anyways, I found it funny the other day because Collin was singing a Christmas jingle that you would have never heard me singing at his age back in 1982....."walking in a 4G wonderland.....walking in a 4G wonderland...".  My how times have changed.
***
This one isn't really considered "funny", but rather sweet, so I had to share it anyways.  We were driving in the car and Collin wanted me to pray for his arm that was hurting him.  After I finished praying with him for God to touch his arm, he so sweetly asks, "Mom, how can God touch me and I not see his hand?"  I just love a child's perspective and innocense.

Ok, so I'm going to divulge this funny moment about myself because looking back, I just laugh inside thinking about it and what the other people thought about me in that moment.  Ok, so here goes..... mom and I were out shopping on Black Friday and decided to go get something to eat at Chili's so we could also catch some of the Razorback/LSU game on tv.  We got a table and I got up to go to the bathroom.  I come back and look up at the screen and see one of the Razorback players running in for a touchdown as soon as I sit back down.  I started screaming and yelling, "YES! GO! RUN! YES! YES!", as I am making all kinds of crazy, excited hand gestures.  I realize no one else is getting as excited as I am.  Then it hits me.....it was a replay of an earlier touchdown.....o. m. gosh.......talk about embarrassing.  I started saying, "Oh crap....that was only a replay...."  Mom just lost it laughing and I'm pretty sure the rest of the patrons in the restaurant were holding back their laughs as well.  Oh well, at least it made for a great memory for the day. ha!
