A Day at the Zoo

The boys and I ventured over to the Gentry Zoo a couple of weeks ago when it was nice outside.  We only live about 20 minutes from there, so its always a nice little excursion for us.  The boys absolutely love getting up close with all the animals.  Collin's favorite of the day was the rhino and Carter said his favorite were the kitty cats.....no, we aren't talking about tigers.....he actually likes the little kittens out of all the big animals at the zoo.....go figure. :-)
The zoo has a drive-thru portion which we did first.  Then we went to the petting zoo part.  We went at the perfect time because the animals were just getting fed, so they were all really close to us.

The boys were fascinated with this guy and kept cracking up at it.

Alligator!

Hippo!

Rhino!  This beast was SO close!  Collin was super excited.

Awww.....brotherly love.....Collin was holding Carter's hand so he wouldn't get lost.

This bird said "hello" to us.  Collin said, "Mom, that bird just talked to me!"

Carter's favorite.....the kittens.

Watch out chicken!  Here comes Carter!

This baby goat was adorable.

Baby donkey

I think this kangaroo was about to box Carter.

Carter REALLY wanted this hat, but I resisted. :-)
